EnPro Improves Operating Efficiency at Garlock Subsidiary by Implementing 11.5.9 with Help from IT Convergence
IT Convergence provides a dedicated consulting resource and Development services for the Oracle 11.5.9 implementation.
EnPro’s business units manufacture and market industrial sealing products, seals for heavyduty trucking, metal polymer and filament wound bearings, air compressors, and diesel and natural gas-fired engines. Garlock Sealing Technologies, an EnPro Industries company, seals its customer’s toughest manufacturing process fluids in the most demanding industrial settings. Garlock provides sealing products and services globally with local support. The company currently provides sealing services to customers at 15 facilities in eight countries. Garlock’s customers are national and multinational corporations from every major industry. The company is headquartered in Palmyra, New York.
Garlock was using Oracle Financials and Oracle Manufacturing at its manufacturing plant in Palmyra, New York. It was facing the de-support of Oracle 10.7 and needed to upgrade to 11i. The company also wanted to streamline plant operations by taking advantage of new E-Business Suite functionalities that would become available with the upgrade. The IT team from EnPro Industries was responsible for managing the implementation. Due to some personnel turnover that occurred during the implementation, EnPro needed a partner that could provide an Order Management consultant to lend stability to its implementation team while it sought a full-time consultant.
ITC provided a consultant to integrate with the project team who oversaw the Order Management implementation and supported the upgrade of Purchasing, Warehouse Management, Work in Progress and Bill of Materials. ITC’s Development Services Center delivered several iStore customizations to extend the functionality of the standard application and built an interface between Purchasing and Order Management to standardize processes and documentation for intra-company materials transfers. The company can now utilize Oracle Financials to support pricing schemes and structures, and the extensions made to iStore have facilitated Garlock’s capacity to do business on-line.
