IT Convergence Enables Global Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance for BMC Software
Pleased with the positive outcome and cost-effectiveness of their previous engagement, BMC Software again chose IT Convergence as a partner for its re-implementation project across Europe.
BMC Software is a leading provider of enterprise management solutions that empower companies to manage their IT infrastructure from a business perspective. The company’s solutions span enterprise systems, applications, databases, and service management. Founded in 1980 and based in Houston, Texas, BMC Software generates annual revenues of more than $1.4 billion.
To ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, publicly-traded BMC Software needed to implement tight managerial controls within its financial reporting practices. BMC management decided to redeploy and integrate Oracle Financials to better facilitate consistent, documented business processes for all of its financial transactions. A reimplementation of Oracle Financials would require an analysis of complex accounting laws spanning BMC’s presence in 17 European countries. As a result, BMC sought a partner that not only could provide experienced, senior-level Oracle consultants and project managers with backgrounds in corporate accounting, but also had keen knowledge of local statutory reporting requirements. Moreover, the company required support of multiple languages throughout the implementation.
