IT Convergence Helps AZZ Overcome Translation Challenges with UPK
IT Convergence successfully documented and created UPK materials to mitigate AZZ’s risks associated with translation processes and end-user adoption.
AZZ is the largest provider in North America of hot-dip galvanizing services for the steel fabrication market, and an industrial manufacturer of electrical equipment and components servicing the electrical and petroleum industries, as well as the power generation, transmission and distribution, and general industrial markets. AZZ is headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, and has 44 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, with over 3,000 employees across 17 states and 3 provinces.
AZZ needed to:
- Incorporate the personnel and processes from the acquired companies into AZZ system
- Overcome the translation challenges caused by acquisitions
- Enable employees to quickly reference and identify the business process steps without losing productivity
ITC’s UPK team worked closely with AZZ and successfully documented standardized processes in the new facility by developing materials that are meaningful to end-users. The implementation of UPK and the tailored approach helped end-users adapt more quickly and efficiently, reducing the translation risks associated with acquisition and systems integration. Another benefit consisted in the adaptation of UPK materials as a training tool for other AZZ facilities.
