Pfizer Rolls Out Oracle in China, Australia and New Zealand
IT Convergence helps Pfizer streamline its Asia operations by migrating to a multi-country instance of Oracle E-Business Suite from legacy systems.
Pfizer, Inc. is an American multinational pharmaceutical corporation headquartered in New York City, being one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies by revenues. Since Pfizer was founded in 1849, it has remained dedicated to discovering and developing new and better ways to prevent and treat disease. Pfizer develops and produces medicines and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines including immunology, oncology, cardiology, diabetology, endocrinology and neurology.
Pfizer needed to migrate their business processes back to Oracle from SAP and convert data from different sources (including Oracle and SAP). The process entailed performing testing and providing support for heavily customized systems and interfaces (Concur, Ariba, Logility, Manugistic, Peoplesoft, MAPS etc), with the added difficulty of achieving global coordination and communication between multiple teams in Europe, US and APAC time zones. Pfizer had already partnered with IT Convergence to rollout Oracle globally in 2009-2010. Pfizer selected ITC for this new project because of its ability to work internationally, as well as the first-class performance in the previous project.
During Phase 2 of Pfizer’s Oracle implementation (February 2012 to present date), IT Convergence deployed 40 skilled consultants with local expertise who were able to integrate rapidly with the company’s team. ITC’s experts also developed a complex integration between Oracle Financials, MFG, distribution and other legacy systems in order to adapt the implementation to the company’s needs.
