Tulane University Teams Up with IT Convergence to Facilitate End-User Adoption
IT Convergence successfully documented Tulane University’s Oracle HCM processes with UPK and trained internal resources on UPK to facilitate end-user adoption.
Founded in 1834, Tulane is one of the most highly regarded and selective independent research universities in the United States and offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees in liberal arts, science and engineering, architecture, business, law, social work, medicine and public health and tropical medicine. Not only is Tulane University known for attracting the very best faculty, staff and students, but it is also identified as the largest employer in New Orleans with over 4,400 employees.
Tulane University has already leveraged IT Convergence’s expertise in the past for their first Oracle implementation and for replacing their legacy application in order to implement the financial components of Oracle E-Business Suite. When Tulane University decided to implement Oracle HCM, they involved ITC to deliver the implementation and training. Based on previous experiences with poor end-user adoption of Oracle, Tulane needed a tool capable of creating training documents that closely simulate the actual processes in order to mitigate and reduce risks.
ITC’s UPK experts recorded Oracle HCM processes with UPK to deliver a simulation of the actual processes in the training phases of the project. The UPK training documentation created a seamless relationship between end-users and the new application and improved adoption. Our experts used the Train the Trainer approach, successfully training Tulane’s internal resources to continue the training effort on their own after the initial phase. By leveraging ITC expertise Tulane was able to reduce the cost of end-user errors and time loss that stem from a lack of understanding the application’s’ processes.
