Ellison brings down the house with “Sunday Night Live”

Sunday Night Live—30 Years Behind The Scenes at Oracle
Live from Oracle OpenWorld—It’s Sunday Night!

Larry Ellison and Oracle CFO Safra Katz kicked of OpenWorld 2007 on Sunday November 11th.
Ellison began the conference with interesting anecdotes and memories, and he dedicated the night to Bob Miner, the partner who co—founded the company in 1977.
As the name suggests, Ellison’s opening gig was a spoof of TV show Saturday night live, and even featured special guests from the show: Kevin Neelan, Darrell Hammond, and Victoria Jackson—
Ellison brought the house down with his stories as he reminisced about how this Silicon Valley startup began with a $48,000 deal with the Central Intelligence Office (CIA) while Saturday Night actors dressed as CIA-like suits and black glasses rendition of the times when Ellison was a two man operation
Ellison recounted how the company faced challenging times as the government had payment delays, and eventually, a partner began paying his bills after the bank started foreclosing on his house…. My, how times have changed. Forbes named Ellison one of the the 11th richest person alive this year .
A live band made up of Oracle employees, customers and Partners closed the event singing along “Oracle rocks!”
