ITC Upgrade to Oracle R12 in Progress

IT Convergence continues “Taking Our Own Medicine.” In 2004 we committed ourselves to moving our business to the Oracle E-Business Suite and since then we’ve implemented Oracle Financials, Oracle HRMS, Oracle Telesales, Oracle Portal, Oracle Collaboration Suite, iSupport, and Oracle Project.

Last August, we launched our own internal upgrade to Oracle Applications Release 12. So far we’ve kicked off the project to the executive and project teams, created our R12 first Proof of Concept, finished the assessment phase, and started the update and test phase. We are now building the customizations, preparing for User Acceptance Testing, and reporting migration. This will be followed by the process of transitioning to a fully configured and migrated environment, completing the UAT, and creating a transition & cutover plan, and production instance.

Upgrading to R12 is helping us to improve our ability to manage our global Finance, HR, Sales & Marketing, and Project Management processes. More importantly, the experience we gain by upgrading Oracle R12 internally will make us better service providers because we will get first-hand knowledge of how to overcome a typical upgrade’s challenges pain points.
