Oracle OpenWorld 2013 Outake: Key Takeaways from Wednesday’s UPK Session

Oracle OpenWorld 2013 Outake: Key Takeaways from Wednesday’s UPK Session
The latest Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) poll shows that 63% of the businesses identified the testing process as a key risk of an implementation and upgrade. Not many UPK users and prospects know about UPK’s testing capabilities for system testing, content testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).  Therefore, Wednesday’s UPK session at Oracle OpenWorld was dedicated to a hot topic in the UPK community: UPK for testing. “Accelerate System Acceptance Testing with Oracle User Productivity Kit Professional” was a session that covered each aspect of the UPK power in the testing phase of the project lifecycle:

Key Takeaways:

  • Start early and plan in advance -> get expert help and advice -> use UPK for the entire project lifecycle
  • UPK Test Script outputs easily integrated with different testing applications, such as OATS, HP Quality Center and IBM Rational
  • UPK reduced test script creation for the testing applications by 50%
  • Leverage UPK pre-built  content  as the starting point for the test scrip creation
  • Keep the content simple for the test script creation and then add content enhancements and conceptual materials for the training
  • The Test IT mode should be used by the end-users (testers) who are doing UAT

Stay Productive, Stay Connected

The “P” in UPK is for “Productivity.” To make sure that your use of Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and/or JD Edwards is productive be sure to:
