On Collaborate 08’s third day one can truly say that the Mile High City has laid out the red carpet and pulled out all the stops to make conference participants feel welcome. Even the weather gods seem to be smiling upon us as pleasant sunshine and temperatures have many participants wondering what it would be like to move to this city.
After 2 full days of sessions followed by happy hours and socializing sessions, there were quite a few today who would have been happy to get a couple of more extra hours of sleep. Fortunately, IOUG, OAUG and Quest were wise enough to strategically locate coffee tables so that much-needed daily doses of caffeine are always in easy reach.Considering that my own forthcoming presentation, “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore Toto: How to Plan a Global Oracle HRMS Rollout,” is targeted at organizations planning global HRMS implementation, I have tried to gauge the response to sessions which have even a hint of “global” in their stated abstracts.
I must confess that I am pleasantly surprised to see a high level of interest in sessions that share insights on global implementation experiences – be it the pains or gains. Truly, the world is getting flatter day by day. – Subash Sitaraman
