ITC will be presenting a series of webcasts that focus on how to obtain full value from Shared Service Center projects.  For finance Shared Service Centers, it is extremely important to design a set of consolidated business processes that accounts for both global and local requirements and clearly defines to what extent those requirements are or are not addressed within the operations of the finance Shared Service Center.  If a consolidated business process design for AP or AR does not account for local statutory accounting or taxation requirements such as Chinese tax law as established by the PRC or Mexican accounting regulations imposed by Mexico’s Servicio de Administracion Tributaria (SAT), this can result in users working outside the system (“hidden factories”).  Work outside the system undermines centralized control, introduces risk and erodes the value of the finance Shared Service Center.  The topic of a global design / regional design will be explored within the first webcast of the series.
