Decoding Oracle: The Technologies, the Acronyms, and When to Use Them

Jim Czuprynski, Holger Friedrich, Edelweiss Kammermann, & Karen Cannell

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 | 10:10 AM – 10:55 AM
Room 102 – ML / AI

Oracle’s ecosystem can feel like a wall of acronyms—OCI, OCP, APEX, RAC, ADW, and more—often leaving people unsure what each piece is, how they fit together, and when (or why) to use them.

In this fast-paced, practical introduction, three Oracle ACE Directors will decode the most common Oracle technologies and terminology, translating “Oracle-speak” into clear concepts you can apply immediately. We’ll map the Oracle landscape, from databases and data services to cloud, integration, development tooling, and observability, then connect each area to real scenarios like modernising legacy systems, building low-code apps, supporting analytics, improving resilience, and operating securely at scale.

Expect a lively, expert-led tour packed with simple explanations, concrete examples, and a cheat-sheet mindset. So you leave knowing what the acronyms mean, what the technologies do, and how to choose the right Oracle capabilities for the job.

Audience: anyone who collaborates with Oracle teams or is new to Oracle technology (developers, architects, DBAs, ops, analysts, leaders).

Takeaways: a mental map of the Oracle stack, a practical acronym decoder, and a set of “use this when…” patterns you can reuse at work.
