Unified Advanced Analytics: Integrating Power BI and Databricks Genie for Real-time Insights
In today’s data-driven landscape, business users expect seamless, interactive analytics without having to switch between different environments. This presentation explores our web application that unifies a Power BI dashboard with Databricks Genie, allowing users to query and visualize insights from the same dataset within a single, cohesive interface. We will compare two integration strategies: one that leverages a traditional webpage enhanced by an Azure bot to incorporate Genie’s capabilities, and another that utilizes Databricks Apps to deliver a smoother, native experience. We use the Genie API to build this solution.

In the last 10 years, she has been building and managing Analytics and Machine Learning global teams for US and British companies. In her role as SME, she offers analysis, recommendations, and advice to clients regarding their Analytics & ML ecosystem and roadmap.
Her work with both private and public organizations, earlier in her career, has spanned much of South America, especially Uruguay, Bolivia, Panamá, and Honduras working in World Bank Projects.
Edelweiss is an Oracle ACE Director and a frequent speaker at international conferences like OTN Tour, UKOUG Tech/Apps, OOW, Code One, Collaborate, Analytics & Data Summit among others. With extensive experience in data science, he has a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in high-pressure environments. Previously, he held roles as Lead Data Scientist & Architect and Data Scientist at TurnPoint, where he developed advanced forecasting models and customer behavior analyses. He has also contributed to significant data lake and warehouse strategies for a $1.5B private equity backed firm and led demand forecasting at Advance Auto Parts. Known for his critical thinking and adaptability, he excels in leveraging big data to drive business intelligence and improve organizational outcomes.

Vishal Srivastava leads the Data & Analytics practice at IT Convergence. A seasoned thought leader in sales and delivery, he brings over two decades of experience across business intelligence, data engineering and analytics, artificial intelligence, pre-sales, global delivery models, digital transformation, enterprise technology strategy, software development, and eCommerce platform implementations.
Prior to joining IT Convergence, Vishal held senior delivery and sales executive roles at Capgemini and Infosys, where he led forward-thinking consulting, technology, and outsourcing services for Fortune 500 clients. He has successfully delivered large-scale digital transformation programs involving BI & analytics, application rationalization, cloud strategy development, and SaaS systems integration—particularly in the telecom, media, and banking sectors.
